On Saturday, June 5, preschoolers from Glankler Early Learning Center in Fremont enjoyed an end of the year class BBQ with their families, teacher, and para-educators at Kristi Yamaguchi's Always Dream PlayPark.
The children enjoyed playing on the brightly colored structures, running their hands through the sand, and sliding down the wheelchair-accessible slide. A "Finding Nemo" themed jump house, bowling set, crawl-through tunnel, and lots of bubbles added to the activities. Afterward, the children and their families enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken kabobs, courtesy of several class dads who served as chefs for the day.
The class BBQ couldn't have been possible without the hard work of beloved Room 2 teacher Anjum Mujeeb, and wonderful class para-educators Doreen Reith, Monica Reyer-Rossi, and Andrea Zembik.
Glankler Early Learning Center is a special education preschool facility operated by the Fremont Unified School District. The program offers special day classes for children with communicative disabilities, learning disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities. In addition, the facility houses a physical therapy unit and provides special speech services to students throughout the district. Ms. Mujeeb's class consists of 3 girls and 19 boys with a variety of mild to moderate disabilities.
