Third grade businesses at Mission San Jose Elementary
Submitted By Dianne Holmes
Third grade students at Mission San Jose Elementary School developed 20 businesses (five students each) open to the rest of the school. Student run booths offered food, operated games and sold small items. Each "business" was composed of a CEO, CFO, secretary, product manager, and an advertising manager.
Students raised approximately $450 in profits from the businesses and will be donating the money to the Ohlone Humane Society Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. A representative from the Ohlone Humane Society, along with a rescued opossum, came to the school on May 14 to meet the student entreprenuers and accept their earnings.
