Nothing cries "springtime" like a park filled with children flying kites. That's the goal of the City of Fremont Parks & Recreation Department with the 10th Annual Kids 'n' Kites Festival. The one-day festival is the largest of its kind in the East Bay, drawing over 10,000 visitors.
The festival is free to the public, and includes free kites to the first 2,500 children in attendance, courtesy of American Swim Academy in Fremont. There will be live entertainment on the main stage, over 30 interactive booths highlighting summer activities, a play area for the kids, food, and more.
On the same day, Aqua Adventure will offer a Pre-season Splash (weather permitting) from 2 to 5 pm. A special one-time entrance price of $5 per person makes it an affordable way to stay cool and enjoy the water park. Current season pass holders can enter for free. The 40-foot water slides, 700-foot lazy river, and "little squirt" play area provide entertainment for every age and energy level. Season passes will be available for purchase, giving customers the chance to enjoy the fun all season long. The water park will officially open for business on Saturday, May 22.
Whatever your age, you're sure to smile as you watch the sky fill with colorful kites, hear children laughing, and enjoy all the festival has to offer.
