Friday, April 30 Officers investigated four vehicle burglaries at the Union Landing Shopping Center. These cases are under investigation by the COPPS Unit. The COPPS Unit is part of the Community Services section. COPPS unit officers have a variety of responsibilities and are involved in several programs that include, but are not limited to, Crime Prevention, Nuisance Abatement, and Neighborhood Dispute Mediation.
Saturday, May 1 Officers investigated a shooting that occurred at the Buddhist Temple on Alvarado-Niles Road. The event hall had been rented out for a private party. Apparently, gang members from Oakland were attending the party and a fight broke out between rival gang members. During the fight someone pulled a gun and two male victims were shot. Officers responded to the scene and obtained little cooperation. The victims both ended up at a local hospital for treatment. This case is under investigation by the Detective Unit.
Monday, May 3 Officers responded to a residence on Early Rivers Place on a burglary in progress. Officers arrived and observed a male juvenile suspect exiting the residence with property. He was promptly arrested and taken to Juvenile Hall for booking.
Officers stopped a vehicle for moving violations. Officers contacted the driver who was found to be in possession of 5 Grams of Methamphetamine. He went to jail for drug possession. |
