Kids Day - having fun making mom's gift
Submitted By Valarie Banks
Fremont Flowers and the Fremont Education Foundation will celebrate Kids Day on Saturday, May 8th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children age's five to twelve are welcome to visit Fremont Flowers and Gifts to make their own arrangement for Mother's Day.
In its tenth year, Kids Day is an annual Fremont Flowers event. For a small donation of $12, children receive a floral design lesson, a floral arrangement kit, and a card. With the help of local area volunteers from the Fremont Education Foundation, children will design their own floral arrangement to give to Mom on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 9th.
Fremont Flowers is donating all proceeds from Kids Day 2010 to the Fremont Education Foundation. The Fremont Education Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 1991 to encourage increased community involvement and investment in local area public schools wants to encourage local area students to come out and enjoy the fun and festivities.
Dirk Lorenz of Fremont Flowers and Gifts believes in giving back to the community. "Kid's Day is one of my favorite events of the year. Not only do we get to see floral creations created by the children, but the funds generated benefits FEF's after school band program and sports fund."
