Monday, April 19
Officers responded to the EZ 8 Motel and arrested Tiyana Coleman (D.O.B. June 25, 1983) for an outstanding felony.

Officers responded to Target on a report of a juvenile male in custody for shoplifting. Police took custody of the male and released him to his parents.

Units responded to Macy's on a report of an adult male detained by security for shoplifting. Officers responded to the area and took custody of Thomas Herena (D.O.B January 18, 1988). The case is being investigated.

Officers accepted a citizen's arrest from Food Maxx. Fred Longstreet (DOB September 23 1953) was arrested for trespassing and booked at Fremont Jail.

Officers arrested Renee Nordvik (D.O.B. December 1, 1978) for DUI. Nordvik was cited from NPD.

Officers conducted a probation search at Motel 6 room #244. David Simmons (D.O.B. December 8, 1977) was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. Simmons was booked at Fremont Jail.

Tuesday, April 20
At 4:09 p.m. The School Resource Officer (SRO) at Newark Jr. High deployed OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) pepper spray on an angry uncle who responded to the school after his niece was arrested for battery. The Uncle pushed the officer and was subsequently subdued with the pepper spray. Neither officer nor the suspect suffered any visible injury. The suspect was medically cleared for exposure to the OC pepper spray. Lincoln Taula, age 25 a resident was booked at Santa Rita Jail for battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and causing a disruption on a school campus.

At 1650 hrs, Officers contacted James Rebelez at 6138 Marguerite Dr. and arrested him for outstanding warrants and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to Santa Rita.

Officers arrested Isidro Merlos (D.O.B. March 5, 1951) for a no cite warrant after he came to Newark PD.

Officers investigated an injury collision on and Cedar Blvd. William Salazar (D.O.B. February 10, 1991) was arrested for DUI after his Ford Mustang struck three other vehicles.
