On Tuesday, April 13, Fremont Christian High School Warriors traveled across town to take on Bay Counties League (BCL) East I rival California School for the Deaf Eagles. CSD got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the first inning only to see the Warriors answer with four runs in the top of the second to chase Eagles' starter Priscilla Castaneda.

Samatha Hyland came on in relief for the hosts and held the visitors at bay until giving up a run in the top of the fifth. CSD would retake the lead, 6-5, with five runs in their half of the fifth. Rachelle Richardson pitched the seventh for the Eagles and the Warriors tied the game at 6-6 before CSD won it with a run in the bottom of the seventh to give Richardson the win.

Natalie Lizarraga lead the Eagles offense going 3-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Kim Nha, Blanca Barron and Richardson all had two hits for CSD, including doubles by Barron and Richardson and two RBIs each from Nha and Richardson.

Wednesday, April 14, CSD traveled to College Prep High School of Oakland and fell, 4-0; Thursday, Fremont Christian lost at Redwood Christian High School, 15-3; and on Friday, the Warriors rebounded with a blowout, 18-7, victory over Cornerstone Christian High School.

In Hayward Area Athletic League (HAAL) action, it was Hayward High School hosting and defeating Tennyson High School on Tuesday, 3-2, behind Angie Purchio's three hitter. Leanna Medina led Hayward at the plate, going 2-3 with a triple and an RBI.

Wednesday, Tennyson hosted Mt. Eden High School and won 12-2; on Thursday, Moreau Catholic High School Mariners traveled to Castro Valley High School and lost 4-3. It was only the second loss of the season for the Mariners with Alyssa Castillo suffering her first loss of the year.

Friday's action saw Hayward host and lose to Arroyo High School, 4-0. Purchio took the loss for Hayward while Brianna Thompson and Chelsey Figueroa had the only 2 hits for the losers.

Mission Valley Athletic League (MVAL) had American High School host and defeat San Leandro High School on Tuesday, 10-2, in a nonleague game.

In league games on Tuesday, April 13, it was James Logan High School beating Irvington High School, 4-0; Newark Memorial High School over Mission San Jose High School, 12-1; and Washington High School victorious over John F. Kennedy High School, 4-1 as all home teams won.

Raeann Garza went the distance and got the win for Logan. Alexis Martinez tripled and had 2 RBIs for the victors while Garza and Merrisa Perez each had two hits including a double by Perez.

In Washington's win, Emily Gibson pitched a complete game for the victory. MacKenzie Bush was 3-3 with an RBI and Angelina Lombardi went 2-2 including a triple and two RBIs.

Thursday, April 15, Newark won at Irvington, 3-1; and Friday, April 16, Logan traveled to Reno, Nevada, for the Reed Tournament where they lost to Spanish Springs High School of Sparks, 12-0, before defeating Fallon High School, 11-4. And on Saturday, April 17, Logan lost again to Spanish Springs, 8-0.

Washington and Logan are both undefeated in MVAL play while Newark has just one loss. Milpitas High School, from the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League, had the week off.
