Man dies from multiple gun shots

On Sunday, April 4, 0717 hours, the Union City Police Department responded to a report of a male bleeding at "Dry Creek Park" on Railroad Avenue near Westgard Street. When officers arrived they located an 18-20 year old male with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personal responded and pronounced the male dead.
The victim of the homicide has been identified as Anthony Marc Roderick Nelson (D.O.B. October 31, 1979). The victim is an African American male with former addresses in the cities of Alameda and Union City.
The deceased male was discovered by a person walking their dog who called "911." A neighborhood check revealed that two area residents heard gunshots between 0500 hrs and 0545 hours but didn't call the police. This is the second homicide of the year for Union City.
