March 31, 2010 > Arson at Centennial Tower Arson at Centennial Tower Submitted By Capt. Thor Poulsen, Public Education Officer, Hayward FD Hayward Fire Department announced on March 26 that the three-alarm blaze in the Centennial Tower's 12th floor penthouse at 22292 Foothill Boulevard, Hayward, on March 19th has been found to be arson. Hayward Fire Department investigators have forwarded information and evidence to Hayward Police Department for the ongoing investigation. The fire that was reported Friday March 19th in the vacant structure, the former Hayward City Hall, at 4.23 p.m. was quickly confined to the 12th floor by firefighters. Fremont, Newark and Union City and Alameda County Fire Departments assisted via mutual aid.
