Bill Mancebo's Player Spotlight
This week the player spotlight finds dancer Alynna Ramirez.
This angelic young lady has spent quite a bit of time studying and practicing her dance moves. Now 7, Ramirez has been dancing since age 3. She's skilled at hip-hop, jazz and break dancing.
Currently Ramirez is involved in basketball, playing for the Christian Youth Organization (CYO) Our Lady of Guadalupe Saints team. She also covers first base and pitches for Fremont Softball Girls (FSG) Nailers team.
Dancing is her main passion. Alynna finds that working out on the dance floor nearly every day at Mission Dance and Performing Arts is not only fun but when combined with push-ups, running and a little weight training it helps her to perform all sports at a much higher level.
As a student of Vallejo Mill Elementary School Ramirez looks forward to each and every day of her fourth-grade studies with PE and math as her favorite topics, and Ms. Hoyos as a favorite teacher. She also gets to see another favorite each day at school; that's because her aunt, Ms. Leon, teaches there too. Alynna will tell you that PE is the pinnacle. She says that's because nothing beats being able to run and jump rope.
When asked about her career goals Ramirez keeps it diversified. It's one of three things for her and in this order: professional softball player, singer or the honorable position as a police officer working in the canine unit.
For fun Alynna likes to draw, ride her bicycle or put her skills to work by singing and dancing at home which greatly entertains her mom, dad and three brothers.
Her palate is easy to please. When given a choice she'll direct the entire family to Panda Express for her favorite orange chicken dish and for dessert it can be absolutely anything as long as it's chocolate.
