Thursday, February 11
Officers responded to a residence on Begonia for a family disturbance. Officers entered the residence after hearing screaming. Upon entering, they discovered an elderly woman suffering from stab wounds. One male suspect was arrested for assaulting his mother.
Saturday, February 13
Officers stopped a vehicle on 11th Street for traffic violations. Two male occupants attempted to walk away from officers, but were detained. The subjects were on searchable probation, and a search was conducted. Inside the vehicle the officers found a loaded .38 Smith and Wesson revolver. One suspect admitted ownership of the gun and he was arrested.
Officers investigated a burglary alarm at Barnard White Middle School. Officers arrived and could hear the subjects inside the school. Minutes later, six juveniles walked out of the school and were detained. The juvenile suspects had broken into and vandalized classrooms. Suspects ranged in age from 11 to 13; they were arrested for burglary and released to their parents on notices to appear.
Sunday, February 14
Officers investigated a robbery that occurred on Planet Circle. In this case, the victim was walking to his car when he was surrounded by three suspects. One suspect pointed a handgun at him while the other suspects removed his wallet from his back pocket and punched him in the face. The suspects then fled the area on foot. The victim was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.
Monday, February 15
Officers investigated a robbery that occurred at the Union Landing Shopping Complex. In this case, the victim was in the theater parking lot when he was approached by a black male suspect holding a handgun. The suspect placed a black semiautomatic firearm to the victim's head and demanded property. The suspect removed the victim's wallet, cellular phone, and searched the victim's vehicle for additional property. He fled the scene when a male and female walked towards the victim's location.
