Resonate Church adopts Oliveira Elementary
Submitted By Christine Szeto
These have been financially tough times for our school district. As more cuts are made, some residents want to do more than feel frustrated and watch our schools suffer. In a time of crisis like this, I am thankful for organizations such as Resonate Church which seek to adopt our schools, one at a time.
Yes, Resonate Church is adopting Oliveira Elementary School! On Saturday, February 27, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Resonate Church will bring a crew to do some cleanup and repairs around the campus, apply touch up paint around the playground, and prepare Oliveira for emergency situations to make it a safer place for our kids.
Resonate Church invites everyone who is willing to join its efforts to help out at the site on February 27 by contributing their time, expertise, money and resources.
Oliveira School, the Oliveira PTA and Resonate Church will chip in together to purchase emergency buckets for each classroom. In case of a lock down or some other emergency situation, provision for the kids' basic needs will be on hand.
To help provide the emergency kits, please donate $5, a one-gallon size Ziplock bag filled with non-perishable snacks (e.g. cereal, granola bars, energy bars, chips, trail mix, dried fruit, crackers, cookies) and a bottle of water.
