Bill Mancebo's player spotlight: Daniel Santos
This week the player spotlight is on Daniel Santos.
As an advanced green belt, the discipline of Martial Arts sits at the top of his list for favorite sports. Santos also has experience with all infield positions at baseball; covers the forward and goalkeeper positions on the soccer field also.
To stay in condition takes exceptional drive and Daniel pushes himself beyond these three sports by running at least one mile a day; playing catch with a baseball, football or Frisbee; and completing numerous repetitions of sit-ups and push-ups on a regular basis.
Attending Brookvale Elementary with math as his favorite subject, Daniel favors Ms. Dillon's class because she keeps it fun and gives just the right amount of homework for him. At 11 years and in the fifth grade, Daniel knows that school is very important and says that "all kids need to do their best at academics regardless of a busy sports schedule."
His due-diligence at school will soon pay off as Daniel plans to assume the role as a Stationary Engineer just like his dad.
When he can find time for vacation Santos enjoys the great outdoors while traveling with his family in their RV. Camping in an area that is a Wi-Fi hot spot is important for Daniel so he can stay in touch with all of his friends on Facebook and share his travels.
If it's Daniel's turn to pick a place to eat he'll point to a Jack in the Box because he loves those tacos and proudly touts a record of powering down nine in one sitting. After the taco party it's time for a bowl of Dreyer's double fudge brownie ice cream. And if that's not available he'll settle for a couple of Reese's peanut butter cups.
