Farmers and Farmerettes Square Dance Club, a Newark-based, exhibition and entertainment square dancing group that supports local charities, was present at the Newark Council meeting on January 28.
Don Baker and club representatives presented their contribution to the Newark Betterment Corporation. The club presented $1,000 each to Meals on Wheels Program, Canine Unit, Graffiti Abatement and D.A.R.E. Program. The Club has contributed to the City annually for a decade. They have a fireworks booth in the City and donate some of their proceeds to the City.
The Farmers and Farmerettes dance on Wednesday nights in the Newark Pavilion, 6430 Thornton Avenue, Newark at 7.30 p.m.
