January 20, 2010 > Kidnapping Suspect Arrested Kidnapping Suspect Arrested Submitted By Officer Robert Norvell On Wednesday, January 6 at approximately 2:02 p.m., Newark Police Department (NPD) officers responded to the area of 6397 Jarvis Avenue on the report of an attempted kidnapping that had just occurred. The eight-year-old female victim reported that a male subject approached her on foot, grabbed her, and attempted to take her away with him. The girl was rescued by her grandmother, who was able to fend off the suspect. NPD officers immediately located the suspect, David McGill, 37 years old of Newark, and he was arrested for kidnapping.
