Parenting workshops: personality and family dynamics

Submitted By Lori Naylor

Have you ever wondered how your personality is affecting your parenting? (And it does!) Do you have two very different parenting styles in your home, adding to the difficulties? Now throw in the kids, with their own unique personalities and you've got lots of opportunities for misunderstandings and stress.

Fremont Council PTA presents a two-part series guaranteed to improve family understanding and interaction. This class will help you understand what's going on in your family relationships and offer ideas and strategies for making things significantly better. Over the course of two nights, we'll be exploring nine different personality profiles and how each one might be impacting parenting. You'll learn a lot about yourself and other family members, and you'll come away with a greater appreciation for your own strengths and challenges. It's fun! It's informative! And feel free to invite your teens to come along with you.

Instructor: Elaine Culverwell, a marriage and family therapist, has over 20 years of experience working with the kids and parents of Fremont. She is a former teacher in the Fremont Unified School District and now teaches parenting classes for Fremont's Youth and Family Services. She works with individuals, couples and families in her private therapy practice. This may be the best thing you do for your family all year.
