Women's bicycling training classes
Submitted By Jo Ann Lew
The Fremont Freewheelers Bicycle Club (FFBC) announces a women's bicycling training opportunity called the Cinderella Training Series. Women of all riding levels, from beginner to advanced, are invited to enroll in either Classic or Challenge Training.
Beginner and intermediate riders will learn to ride in a group and train to complete a 100 kilometer (62 mile) ride. Advanced riders will train to complete a Century (100 mile) ride. Both training series will build students' strength, endurance, confidence and riding and mechanical skills, with encouragement and tips from other women.
Classes are every Saturday, from January 16 through March 20, plus a 60-mile ride in the Worldly Wanda Tour de Fremont on March 27. The first class includes orientation and bike check followed by a local, 10 - 15 mile ride. All rides are in groups of 10 to 15 students with at least two ride leaders.
