Holiday Food Distribution
By Meenu Gupta
Holiday Food distribution will take place at the Milpitas Food Pantry on Saturday, December 19 at 10 a.m. "There will be 10-12 Milpitas Kiwanis members and 40 Key Club members from the Milpitas High School," said Kiwanis Club of Milpitas, Secretary Dennis Knight. The Key Club is Kiwanis sponsored service organization at the Milpitas High School. "On the day of the distribution, we organize and help distribute the food and handle traffic control," he said.
Milpitas Pantry food distribution includes collections by the school district and a number of collection centers. The Milpitas Unified School District has been sponsoring the Food Drive every year for more than 45 years. Every school in the District collects food and monetary donations, which go directly to the Milpitas Food Pantry to help feed Milpitas' most needy families during the Holidays and the entire year.
To donate please visit the pantry during open business hours. Those interested in volunteering their time may write to Karen Kolander, director of the Food Pantry at volunteer@milpitas food pantry.org.
