Theatre: A Christmas Carol, the Musical

The holiday season is upon us and Curtain Call Performing Arts production of "A Christmas Carol, the Musical premiers this week. This timeless classic will run at the Lisser Theater on the Mills College campus in Oakland opening to the general public on Saturday, December 19 at 8 p.m. through December 23.

The musical version brings the Dickens classic to life with the full Broadway treatment by the team of Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast), Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime) and Mike Okrent (Crazy for You).

Curtain Call provides shows free of charge to local school children on Friday, December 18. The show will also feature ASL interpretation for the hearing impaired on closing night, December 23. In partnership with the Alameda County Fire Department, patrons are invited to bring new, unwrapped toys to performances. For every toy donated, participants will receive Curtain Call Cash which can be used toward tuition for company classes and workshops and online when making ticket purchases.

Directed by Catherine Heck (San Leandro), A Christmas Carol, the Musical stars Ben Euphrat of Piedmont as Ebenezer Scrooge, Melissa Modifer of San Leandro as Ghost of Christmas Past, Jeffery Morill of Hayward as Ghost of Christmas Present, Catherine Williamson of San Leandro as Ghost of Christmas Future and Emanuel Garcia of Castro Valley as Tiny Tim.
