Fremont Fire Department Holiday Food and Toy Drive

The Fremont Fire Department is beginning its Holiday Food and Toy Drive. Each holiday season, the Fremont Fire Department accepts donations of non-perishable food and new, unwrapped toys at all 10 Fire Stations, and the Fire Administrative Office. Tri-City Volunteers, Inc. distributes the received donations to needy families in the Tri-City area. This process is assisted by the efforts of Fremont Fire Department volunteers.

Share the joy of this holiday season with another family by donating a new, unwrapped toy or non-perishable food item. Toy donations are being sought for both children and teens.

Leukemia-Lymphoma Society, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, SAVE (Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments), HERS Breast Cancer Foundation, Kidango 'Gifts from the Heart' program and Adopt an Angel (Alameda County Child Protective Services.) Free candy canes handed out on Wellington Place.

Mission Valley ROP Food and Toy Collection Drive

The Mission Valley Regional Occupational Program (MVROP) will be doing their part to ensure that those who have experienced unprecedented hardships this year will still have a reason to celebrate with their loved ones during the holiday season. Through December 17, MVROP staff and students will be collecting toys and canned goods to donate to the families that are supported by Tri-City Volunteers, Inc.

Hawaiian Holiday Christmas Concert

Aloha! To honor Hawaii's newly canonized saint, Saint Damien de Veuster of Molokai, you are all invited to a Hawaiian Holiday Christmas Concert sponsored by St. Anne's Aloha Ke Akua Choir and the Northern California Kaleponi Strings Ukulele Group.

This concert will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church, 32223 Cabello Street (at Dyer) in Union City on Friday, December 11 at 7 p.m. Spiritual as well as contemporary Hawaiian Christmas music, dances, and prayer will be performed. There will be a surprise for the keikis. Boys and girls, come and bring your parents, aunties and uncles, grandmas and grandpas for a special tropical treat. Admission is free. Try something new, come, join us and enjoy a warm Hawaiian Island Christmas Holiday.

Ohlone College Presents 'A Christmas Extravaganza!'

Musical event, directed by Tony Clements, features Ohlone's Community Band, Wind Orchestra, Tuba Ensemble, and special guests, the Silicon Valley Brass Band.

These four groups will present favorite seasonal music, from carols to classical, somber to sparkling, all to celebrate the holidays.

The Wind Orchestra is premiering Bay Area composer George Roumanis' epic new work, 'Evergreen Christmas: A Symphony of Carols' and performing Alfred Reed's 'Russian Christmas Music.'
