Boy Scouts support troops
Submitted By Donna Black
Boy Scouts of Troop 143 of Fremont participated on November 30 to pack homemade ornaments, notes and candies in holiday decorated tins for the deployed troops overseas. The scouts forfeited a fun event to put their hard earned money toward buying art supplies, paper, ornaments, tins and candy to support 'Their Angels' and deployed military personnel this Christmas. They did an awesome job and 'Their Angels' thank them. Troop 143 has supported the troops in the past by writing hand written notes and cards of thanks an appreciation and this month they took all of their profits from popcorn sales and donated the proceeds to supporting deployed men and women of the US Military. The kids were so excited and enthused about making the care packages and doing something for the troops it was amazing to witness.
'Their Angels' is a non-profit organization supporting more than 500 troops a month. Our diverse group of volunteers, military families, veterans and others have joined together to touch the hearts of military men and women serving our country with honor and pride. We invite you to join our monthly packing, which is held on the first Saturday of each month. Since 2004, the volunteers have packed over 20,000 care packages which included a card or letter of support and encouragement. For more information, visit www.theirangels.org.
