Operation Holiday Cards
Submitted By Michelle Eacret
Operation Holiday Cards' packing party needs help to sort and pack cards and letters destined for our troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Service Unit 620 is hosting a community service project to supply Holiday cards to these soldiers during the holiday season.
Last year, we sent almost 8,000 cards from our enlarged Council and assorted goody bags. The cards can be Christmas cards, Hanukkah cards, Kwanzaa cards, Happy Holiday cards or even Happy New Year cards. They can be store-bought or home-made. They can even be just festive pictures drawn by Girl Scouts of all ages.
Anything that lifts the spirits of those so far from home during the holidays is welcome. You can find cards from Dollar Stores or Big Lots at a good price. Cards do not have to be in envelopes.
Please RSVP to Michaela by Friday, December 4. Respond "YES" with troop number, level, number of girls and adults attending to michaelais@comcast.net.
