Stitches from the heart
Submitted By Lisa Cole
Fremont Unified School District's, Circle of Independent Learning Charter School (COIL) students, along with director, Mary Musgrove and past parent and community supporter, Barbara Cronin, have been busy this semester knitting hats for premature babies. To add a special seasonal touch, some of these are little pumpkin caps! These have been such hit with the local hospital that the class has been extended in order to create little elf and snowman caps for the winter!
Students at COIL complete their schooling at home with support from advisory teachers and small classes at their campus located on Calaveras Avenue. Stitches from the Heart class offers high school students an opportunity to earn community service hours.
