Alice in Wonder
Submitted By Irene Jordahl
The Fall Children's Repertory Theatre Company performs "Alice in Wonder" at the Niles Veterans Memorial Building, Saturday, December 19 and a matinee on Sunday, December 20.
Under the direction of Leisha Schmidt, actors perform "Alice in Wonder" by V. Glasgow Koste - an adaptation of Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass." True to the meaning of the original Carroll masterpieces, the play focuses on the wonder of sorting out sense and nonsense in a surreal dream of falling: the sphinxy Cat; the mad Duchess; the Tweedles 'mirroring' the folly of war; the infinite-social-circling tea party; the White Knight; dream-inventing Alice; and the wildly expressionistic croquet game. "Alice in Wonder" ends on a hopeful note of tranquil wonder at the mysterious yet reassuring possibilities of the human mind.
Doors open a half-hour before show time. Snacks are available for purchase. These shows are for all ages.
