Fremont Police hosts blood drive

Submitted By Jan Giovanni-Hill

The Fremont Police Department CARE Unit is hosting its second annual Blood Drive this year on Monday, December 14, from noon to 6 p.m. at the Fremont Main Library.

Appointments can be scheduled online at helpsavealife.org, and the sponsor code is: POLICE. For additional questions, contact Sandra at (510) 910-3465 or email smhc88@comcast.net. You can also leave a message at (510) 790-6756.

Donors with Type O blood are especially needed. The need is constant and the gratification is instant - a pint of blood can save three lives.

What is extra special about this particular Blood Drive though, is that all presenting donors are able to enter a drawing for raffle prizes. Last year, almost everyone was able to walk away with an item that had been donated by community members and businesses, and we have at least 120 slots to fill this year.

Please spread the word to your business, friends and family.

1) Consider donating blood this time even if you have never had the opportunity in the past.

2) We could use any donations of food for the volunteers or raffle prizes for presenting donors.

In either case, email Sandra at the address above or contact us -- and a CARE Member can stop by to pick up your donations; and/or log online to helpsavealife.org and schedule an appointment today.
