November 18, 2009 > Kiwanis Club to hold Turkey and Holiday food drive Kiwanis Club to hold Turkey and Holiday food drive Submitted By Shirley Sisk On Saturday, November 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., members of the Fremont Kiwanis Club, along with the club's sponsored youth organizations will be at four Fremont, Union City and Newark grocery stores collecting turkeys and food items for the holidays. All food will be donated to support Tri-Cities League of Volunteers (LOV) annual Thanksgiving Day Feast which last year served 4,765 dinners at the Newark Pavilion and to the homebound in Fremont, Newark, Union City, Hayward, Castro Valley, San Leandro and San Lorenzo. Along with turkeys, Kiwanis will be accepting canned goods and other non-perishable items as wells as cash donations. A flyer with a list of the food items and needed supplies will be available at all stores on Saturday, November 14.
