Cities support Oakland Athletics relocation efforts
Submitted By Steve Blomquist
Santa Clara County Supervisor Dave Cortese announced that two more cities have adopted and sent resolutions to Major League Baseball in support of Major League Baseball releasing territorial rights over Santa Clara County. Understanding the power of a unified voice as well as the economic benefits that a stadium could have in the South Bay, Mountain View and Gilroy have each passed the resolution.
Cortese has worked actively to clear the path for a possible A's relocation to Santa Clara County, including urging the cities of the county to act with one voice when it comes to this potential economic and social opportunity. Cupertino, Los Altos Hills, Morgan Hill, Milpitas, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, and San Jose have also voiced their support to Major League Baseball.
