Milpitas Library hosts blood drive
Submitted By Linda Arbaugh
The Milpitas Library will host a Stanford blood drive on Saturday, November 21 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. The drive will be conducted in the multipurpose room of the library at 160 N. Main St., Milpitas
All donors will receive a complimentary movie pass courtesy of LifeScan of Milpitas.
Although 60 percent of the population is eligible to donate blood, only 5 percent do so annually.
Donors must be 17 years of age or older (16 with parental permission), weigh at least 110 pounds and be free of cold and flu symptoms. If you are taking medication, you may want to check with your doctor before donating. Most people taking medication are eligible to donate.
To schedule an appointment online, log onto http://bloodcenter.stanford.edu/ and then click on "donor login." Walk-in's are also welcome.
