Bill Mancebo's player spotlight: Chloe Lambert
This week the spotlight finds 12-year-old Fremont resident Chloe Lambert.
This young lady's selected sport is soccer. She covers both offense and defense as a midfielder for the Newark House Soccer League Thunderstorms team.
With five years experience as a soccer player behind her and many more to go, staying in top shape is essential. She works hard at this by conditioning and practicing three days a week to prepare for her weekend matches. Her father, who's a retired soccer pro, works closely with Chloe to teach her his best field maneuvers.
Lambert attends Centerville Jr. High where she does well at math, and history is a favorite subject. Chloe knows that her hard work on the field and at school will soon pay off. She plans to continue her love for soccer and move up to the professional ranks just like her dad. If the plan for that changes she will then become a veterinarian and serve our beloved animal community.
Traveling is her favorite form of recreation and Chloe incorporates swimming into this to keep in top condition. She has visited several destinations throughout Europe, but always stops to stay with her grandparents who reside on the coast of the Baltic Sea; that's where the swimming comes in. Chloe also enjoys studying the Swedish language that's taught at home and also professionally once a week.
In true Swedish tradition, her favorite food is the Swedish meatball dish (created by her mom) or pasta with butter and parmesan cheese.
