November 4, 2009 > Support the Walk-A-Thon Support the Walk-A-Thon Submitted By Rachel Decker We are having a Walk-A-Thon this year on November 10 for Curtner Elementary. Anyone is welcome to make a donation. Do you want to make a donation? Know of a business or someone who would be willing to make the donation? This is the fifth Walk-A-Thon I have done for Curtner. It started out as a project for a Health/Nutrition Class I was taking. We had to a Nutrition Activity. I decided to make it a fundraiser along with the assignment. I liked the results. That year we were able to go on a major field trip and get DVD/VCR players for the third grade classes. So I keep doing it. The proceeds always go towards purchasing equipment for the classrooms, going on field trips, and towards projects. Some things that the money is used for only benefits the current group of students. Other items like DVD/VCR Players and computers benefit future students. This year's Walk-A-Thon is a Walk-A-Thon only. The BBQ that we had used in the past (purchased with Walk-A-Thon money a couple years ago) was stolen over the summer. We are looking for monetary donations as well as donations of computers, prizes for the kids, gift cards to places like Target, Safeway, Office Supply Stores, digital cameras, and Costco.
