November 4, 2009 > Milpitas Lions Club celebrates seventh anniversary Milpitas Lions Club celebrates seventh anniversary By Meenu Gupta Milpitas Executive Lions Club (MELC) will hold a celebratory luncheon at Brandon's restaurant on Saturday, November 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a holiday boutique featuring Christmas around the world, holiday arts and crafts, specialty vendors and artisans, ethnic gifts and wine tasting. A raffle will be the highlight of the gala event. Santa will pose for pictures with the kids from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. MELC is part of the world's largest and most effective community service organization, with more that 1.4 million members. Members of MELC organize and engage in numerous annual and monthly activities. During the past few years, the club has collected hundreds of used pairs of eyeglasses that were shipped to third world countries. RSVP required by Friday, November 6.
