Make a Difference Day is October 24
The City of Fremont is sponsoring trail clean up and restoration at Stivers Lagoon Nature Area, as well as perimeter clean up of the lake and surrounding areas. For more information, or to volunteer, contact Sandy Ferreira at (510) 790-5541 or firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
Milpitas will be holding a "Community Get-together" on Saturday, October 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cardoza Park, Kennedy Drive at N. Park Victoria in Milpitas. City officials and representatives from various organizations will be there to give valuable information about available community resources. There will be free blood pressure testing, sugar testing, used eyeglass collection, fingerprinting for children, emergency and 2-1-1 awareness information.
Also, please bring non-perishable food, good clothing and shoes, and bedding to donate to local food pantries and outreach centers.

Union City volunteers will plant trees, remove graffiti, and work together to improve the appearance of several parks and community centers. Hayward's "Keep Hayward Clean and Green Task Force" will be holding a clean-up event at Schafer Park Elementary School (26268 Flamingo Ave, Hayward), from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. A canned food drive will also be part of the service at the site.
