Lightning Bolts, of FC Fremont's Under-14 Girls House League Soccer, scored two early goals and rolled to their second victory of the season's second half, 2-0, over Burn on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Amy de Landa scored her first goal of the season and Jamie Fernandez tallied her second as the Bolts improved their second-half record to 2-0-1 and the season's overall mark to 6-2-1.
De Landa scored eight minutes into the game when she booted in a rebound off a Synclaire Hamilton shot. Hamilton followed with another shot on goal, then moments later, delivered a perfect crossing pass to Fernandez for a 2-0 lead.
Lightning Bolts, who defeated Burn 6-2 in their first meeting, had numerous other chances in the first half as Aaryonna Lopez and Alexia Dentoni each had two shots on goal and Elena Strom one.
Nadra Mamou, Cheyenne Gilman and Kailey Richardson all played well on defense for the winners while goalie Samantha Stephens recorded four saves in earning the clean sheet. |
