In the Hayward Area Athletic League, there were some lopsided results over the weekend of Friday, Oct. 16, and Saturday, Oct. 17.
Friday night saw the Hayward Farmers host the Tennyson Lancers, which resulted in a 36-point white-washing in the Farmers' favor, 49-13.
After racing out to a 21-7 halftime lead, Hayward matched their first half total in the third quarter alone, outscoring the Lancers 21-6 in the third. They added another touchdown in the fourth to conclude the scoring.
Moreau Catholic traveled to Albany to take on St. Mary's on Saturday and left with an "L" to drop their record to 3-3 overall, as the Panthers put up 53 to the Mariners 14. St. Mary's put up 21 in the first quarter and cruised to the easy victory.
In the closest game of the weekend, Mt. Eden went to Castro Valley and earned its first victory of the season, ousting the Trojans 12-10 in dramatic fashion, led by quarterback Joe Latu.
Castro Valley dropped to 1-5 while Mt. Eden improved to 1-5 on the season.
California School for the Deaf, in Bay Football League play, traveled to Walnut Creek to take on Berean Christian on Friday afternoon. CSD (2-5) couldn't control the line of scrimmage all day against BC (5-2) as they were blown out 35-6.
All aforementioned schools will resume play this coming weekend - including a CSD-Fremont vs. CSD-Riverside Homecoming game on the CSD-Fremont campus Saturday afternoon, Oct. 24. Log onto www.tricityvoice.com/sports to get the entire football schedule and more.
