The Black & White Furball

By Simon Wong

Kittens, cats, dogs, puppies, bunnies and other critters of all colors, shapes, sizes and ages are searching for new homes. Staff and volunteers at the Hayward Animal Shelter are busy grooming their charges for the annual Black & White Furball in an effort to find them loving owners.

Traditionally, most animals available are black and white; hence the event's name, but this year there will be more choices for prospective owners.

There will be hot dogs and soda on Saturday and face-painting for children on both days. The event is sponsored by the Hayward Animal Shelter Volunteers.
