Director of Education Awarded Prestigious Title

Andrea Fleekop, director of education at Temple Beth Torah in Fremont has been granted the prestigious title of Reform Jewish Educator (R.J.E.) by the Reform Jewish Educator Title Granting Commission. The title is granted to those educators who have fulfilled stringent academic requirements in the areas of education/educational administration and Judaic studies as well as three years of professional experience as a full time Jewish Educational Leader in a Reform congregation.
Recipients of this much-coveted title are selected by representatives of the constituent bodies of Reform Judaism, including the American Conference of Cantors (ACC), the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR), the Commission on Jewish Education, the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR), the National Association of Temple Educators (NATE), and the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ). Fleekop will be honored at the next national NATE Conference.
