New Planning Commissioner for Newark

Bernie Nillo replaces Grace Santana as a City of Newark Planning Commissioner and will serve the remainder of Santana's original term until December 31, 2009. Council unanimously approved (5-0) his appointment.
Nillo has been a project QA manager for almost 10 years in the South Bay.
"I was working with different components, video equipments and transition digital planning equipments, working on software updates integrating the products within other systems that work for the government as well as hospitals and health care," he said.
He has also coached youth football, soccer and baseball for the last five to ten years. A Newark-resident for 38 years, Nillo has two Masters Degrees - Business and Information Technology.
"I want to be part of the solution, work toward the City's growth and realize Newark's potential. I'd like to volunteer my expertise and problem-solving skills so that my decision-making can help the City of Newark to grow," he said.
