Submitted By Margery Leonard
AAUW (The American Association of University Women) Fremont Branch announced that "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle", by famed author Barbara Kingsolver, is the next book in the One Book, One Community shared literacy program.
"Last year," said chairperson of the One Book, One Community project and AAUW Fremont Branch member Margery Leonard, "we went with an international theme and this year it seems appropriate to focus our attention locally and celebrate the rich abundance of foods in our area."
"Animal, Vegetable, Miracle", by Barbara Kingsolver, who is author of 12 fiction and non-fiction books, is part memoir, part cookbook, part biology text and part social commentary." added Margery Leonard. "She reminds us that, "You are what you eat", and challenges us to implement food habits that are health for the body, the farming culture and the environment."
