Join the Insomniacs Robotics Team
Submitted By Rebecca Xing
The district-wide high school FIRST Robotics Competition team 2489, also known as the Insomniacs, is having a new member orientation on Saturday September 5, 2009 from 2 p.m. -5 p.m. at the Fremont Main Library, Fukaya Room B.
Team 2489, the Insomniacs, is a local team that competes annually in FRC, a large-scale international tournament with a budget of over twenty thousand dollars per year. Because of the high operating costs, starting a team is difficult and therefore rare. In 2008, the Insomniacs was created at Mission San Jose High School and due to the unique experience it provides, team2489 is now open to high school students from all over the FUSD.
The team is divided into Build and Business Division. Build Division focuses on the engineering aspects of the team, such as machining, design, and programming, while Business Division provides members with the opportunity to talk to corporations, gain experience in fundraising and planning events, finances, documentation and more.
Contact them by email at email@example.com or check out their website www.team2489.org.
