August 19, 2009 > Walk or run, but hurry to register for Fun Run Walk or run, but hurry to register for Fun Run Submitted By Helen Kennedy It's called Union City's 50th Anniversary Fun Run, but runners, walkers and strollers of all ages are welcome to participate in the September 13 activity. There will be one-mile, five-kilometer and 10-kilometer courses for men, women and children of various age groups. Separate divisions have been reserved for those with pets and strollers; the only category missing seems to be "Running with scissors." This family-friendly walk/run is intended to celebrate Union City's 50th Anniversary by promoting fitness and wellness. It will include a Fitness Fair with free massages, live entertainment guaranteed to get people on their feet and healthy refreshments. Runners who sign up by September 4 will get a Fun Run T-shirt. Registration forms are available at the Union City Sports Complex, any city community center, and online.
