Cal Ripken Fremont All Stars take fourth

Congratulations to the Fremont Cal Ripken 12 60 All-Star Baseball team for taking fourth place in Regionals which was held in Easton, California from July 27- August 1.
This is the first time a Fremont Cal Ripken team has made it to the Regional level. Fremont represented the Pacific West Region facing teams from Arizona, Guam, Utah, Easton, Visalia and Fresno. Fremont came to play and went 2-2 in Regionals. Their biggest win came win they played Arizona on game three winning 3-1 in the seventh inning.
Arizona was now sent home along with Guam, Easton, and North Utah, Which meant the top four teams -- Fremont, South Utah, Fresno and Visalia -- were battling for the chance to go to the World Series in Boston, Massachusetts.
Fremont's journey ended playing against South Utah on Thursday, July 30. What a battle! Throughout the whole game the score was neck and neck with Fremont leading majority of the game. Our boys never gave up.
On Monday, July 27, all teams gathered before Regionals started for dinner and a skills competition which consisted of a home run derby, around the horn, catching and four corners. Congratulations to our boys, they took second place in each skills competition. With all the talent out their, Fremont shined.
This was a wonderful and exciting experience for both the players and the parents. We are very proud of our boys! Each day they played they left their hearts out and left it on the baseball field. That's all a coach and a parent could wish for. Thanks for a great ride! This is a memory we will never forget. Thank you to all the sponsors who helped and sponsored our team.
