July 29, 2009 > Richard Belcher Richard Belcher September 16, 1930- July 08, 2009 Resident of Fremont, California Beloved partner of Milagros Daiss, devoted step father to Annabelle, Luz, Ferdinand and JoJo grandfather to Genavive,Michelle Noli Jr. Gemili, Aira, Sira, Charlene and great grandfather to Gracie. Cherished son of Violet Pearl Blaycok and Earl Goens, He was the oldest of three children. Richard touched many lives with his gentle spirit, and positive outlook on life. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana where he graduated from high school and in 1963 moved to Fremont, California. Richard retired from Safeway stores after 25 years of honored service. He enjoyed learning about lighthouses, enrolled in computer classes and watching live theatre performances at Stage 1 with his grandchildren. Richard was the vice president of the Fremont Cultural Arts Council and volunteered his time to many local political campaigns. One of Richard's joys was having his parents with him until their early 90's; he treasured his friendship with Richard Lewis and family in Oregon. Richard was put to rest on July 17, 2009 at Chapel of The Chimes Memorial Park in Hayward, CA.
