Bill Mancebo's player spotlight: Troy Ermish
This week the player spotlight takes us to the 510 racing shop in Fremont where we meet 42-year-old Troy Ermish. Troy's sport of choice is auto racing and he's done quite a bit of it. Ermish is known as the "Iron Man" in the SRL stock car circle. That's because he has the most starts and consistently finishes as one of the top six competitors.
Troy moved up this year as it's his first opportunity to race for another team. He has always raced his own cars but now drives for Bob and Melinda Strandwold of Strandwold Racing. Troy enjoys what he does and being immersed in racing is precisely the life he wants, according to Troy.
Ermish also competes in vintage Datsun 510 racing and, out of five races, he possesses four wins with three track records at Thunder Hill, Laguna Seca and Infineon raceways. When he's not at the track or building winning race cars for his customers, Ermish enjoys other sports too: he golfs regularly and likes to play softball when he can.
Troy stays healthy by paying close attention to his diet and always eats quality food. When he finds time to relax he loves to watch all motorsports, especially road racing. His favorite food is Mexican and if given a choice he'll head on over to Chipotle.
Ermish spent his childhood in the state of Washington and attended Auburn high school there. He aspires to make racing his full-time career someday soon. If you would like to follow his success in racing you see him on the Web at www.ermish-racing.com and www.srllatemodels.com.
