Gators chomp Washington Manor Dolphins

Submitted By Victor Seeley

This past Saturday, July 18, the Warm Springs Gators were victorious in their last dual meet of the East Bay Swim League (EBSL) regular season. With visiting team Washington Manor Dolphins putting up a valiant effort, the Gators proved too strong in the end, prevailing, 589 - 456.

During the meet, a team record for the Gators was set by Alessandro Dalla Ricca (8) in the 25-yard breaststroke with a time of 20.03. The end of the meet was quite exciting as the 11 and older swimmers swam in 4x25 yard freestyle relays (typically the relays are 4x50 yards). Many of the final relays were shockingly close as a few events posted two or three relay teams finishing within a tenth of a second each other.

The EBSL will have its annual championship meet this coming Saturday, July 25, at Chabot College, running from 8:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. The Warm Springs Gators are one of the 12 teams competing for the championship title. The coaches from Warm Springs Gators would like wish all of the teams in the championship good luck.
