In 2008, Milpitas based Bay Area Youth Vaishnav Parivar (BAYVP) acquired its own facility, "Shreemaya Krishnadham."
The mission of the non-profit organization is to propagate and understand the life and teachings of Lord Krishna, pursue selfless actions, worship, justice and morality as propounded in the sacred texts of the Holy Gita, thereby determining the true value and purpose of life.
BAYVP is delivering on its vision to conduct various educational, cultural, community and religious events regularly at the temple and community center.
The community services includes Shreemay Vidya Mandir, Nikunj Yuva Seva Program and Shreemay Senior Center.
Shreemay Vidya Mandir enrolls over 200 students who study Hinduism, Hindi, Gujarati, music, art. Nikunj Yuva Seva is involved with youth volunteer activities such as blood drives, medical camps and cultural events.
Shreemay Senior Center is focused on catering to the needs of the seniors in the community. It has weekly get-togethers, lectures, and trips for the seniors.
BAYVP hosted its first annual fund raiser on June 20 with a musical dance play. As a part of its first annual fundraiser, a performance of a musical dance play on the deity Krishna's life named "Sathvaro Shree Radhe Shyamno" was performed.
This was a unique experiment to display the Radha-Krishna's life through music and dance performance.
