Seals out swim Gators

Submitted By Lisa Meagher

In East Bay Swim League regular season play on Saturday, July 11, the Kennedy Seals Swim Club swam their final home meet against rival, cross-town Warm Springs Gators.

Although it's the middle of July, the Seals theme for the weekend was Christmas holiday, which included garland, stockings and even a visit from Santa; but the Seals were not in the giving mood as they out-swam the Gators and took their fourth victory of the year by a score of 618-415.

The dedication by the Seals coaching staff, and the enthusiasm by the Seals swimmers is paying off by providing the Seals the best season they've had in 12 years.

In the 9-10 girls free relay, the Seals group of swimmers - Madison A., Rachael T., Kiana P. and Virginia X. - broke the team record. And the following swimmers took first place in all their events: Grant M. in 8 under boys; Jonathan B. in 15 up boys; Mathew L. in 11-12 boys; Lauren T. in 8 under girls; Jamie K. in 11-12 girls; Joey J. in 9-10 boys; and Ranveer G. in 13-14 boys.

Hamasseh P. (11-12 girls 50 butterfly), Abigail H. (13-14 girls 100 Individual Medley), Rachael T. (9-10 girls 25 breast stroke), Tyler U. (6 under boys 25 freestyle), Katie F. (11-12 girls 50 butterfly), Breana M. (15-18 girls 50 breast stroke), Katelyn M. (11-12 girls 100 Individual Medley) and Grant S. (13-14 boys 100 Individual Medley) all dropped time in their events, respectively.
