Jessica Johnson

When I was growing up, my grandmother and I watched all the classic musicals. I immediately fell in love with the singing and dancing and I found an innate love for music. From there my parents signed me up for singing and dancing lessons. Things escalated from lessons, to trying out for teams, to competing and performing with show groups, then competing and performing as a solo artist, to singing the anthem at major league sporting events.

In 2006, I started a band and performed all over the bay area with them. In 2007 I released my first album. I continue to perform with my band and sing at sporting events. Today I'm writing my own music and working on my next album.

The best place to listen to my music is at my shows, you can find a list of my ever growing schedule on my website, You can also listen to my music on my website, Myspace, and you can buy my album on i-Tunes, cdbaby and other fine retailers.

I want people to know that I am thankful for all the support I have been giving. I love to sing more than anything in the world & would love to see them at any or all of my shows.

I am very excited to be singing out in the sun in beautiful Murphy Park. That day I'm going to have Tom Tomasello on keyboard, Joel Wilson on bass, Kevin Higuchi on drums, and Jeannie O'Neal on sax & guitar.

You readers should all come out to enjoy some great music and the sweet sunshine with my band and me.

Susan Rancourt

I was introduced to jazz by my family and listened to the great jazz artists from the time I was very small. My favorite album when I was 10 years old was "Sammy Davis Jr. Live at Coconut Grove"! I also started studying the music and history of jazz from the 1920's onward. And I listened to a lot of music. That was the best education.

In addition, my father had a terrific voice and sang quite a bit. It was just natural for me to start singing at a young age. I would sing at family parties, community events, talent shows ... whenever I could.

Smooth, hip, elegant, like honey ... this is how my voice has been described and I'm flattered. Our tunes are taken mostly from the great standards of the American Songbook (think Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Krall) and we do them in a variety of tempos: swing, ballad, bossa and blues. We also play many contemporary tunes from the '70s/80's in a very unique way.

We're always updating our calendar. Visit my website: I welcome people to email me, say hello and be added to our mailing list. Or go to

Jazz appeals to all ages! I'm dedicated to honoring the jazz art form and all of the great artists who created this amazing and timeless music. I'm grateful to the city of Milpitas for making this event possible and for inviting us to be part of a celebration of live jazz.

My trio consists of Larry Chinn, keyboards, Frank Passantino, bass and Billy Jones, drums.

Come out and listen to a great selection of tunes!
