Young Toastmasters complete program
Submitted By Susie Kamath
The five members of CESSA Talk 5 Youth Leadership club of Fremont received completion certificates on Sunday, June 21 during a ceremony at Fremont's Central Park. By combining the first letter of each student's first name, the club's name of CESSA was created by the participants.
Directed by Toastmasters International Youth Leadership Program, the members focused on meeting chairmanship, public speaking, impromptu speaking, speech organization, listening, gestures in speaking, voice and vocabulary.
The club met every Friday evening, for two months. "When they first joined, the members were a bit nervous and were not confident in public speaking," said club coordinator, Susie Kamath. "But the well-organized curriculum and keen interest from the members was a perfect match which enabled them to radiantly deliver speeches."
At the ceremony, all members presented their final speeches, received completion certificates, and along with their proud families, enjoyed a delectable feast.
The sponsoring club is All EArs Toastmasters that meets every other Wednesday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Electronic Arts, Redwood Shores campus, 250 Shoreline Drive, Redwood City, Inner Sanctum conference room.
