Cash for local schools
Submitted By Kim Facas
The Fremont Hub completed its 9th annual Cash for Class program, a community outreach program that awards cash scholarships to local elementary schools. By May 31, the program awarded over $7,000 to this year's participating schools.
Local schools in the program included: Christian Community School, Glenmoore Elementary, Harvey Green Elementary School, Hirsch Elementary, Holy Spirit School, Niles Elementary School, Oliveira Elementary School, Our Lady of Guadalupe School, St. Joseph School, Prince of Peace Lutheran Elementary, Tom Maloney Elementary School, Weibel Elementary and Warwick Elementary.
Cash for Class works by awarding schools five points for every dollar spent at The Fremont Hub during each school year. Parents, friends, and students simply credit their receipts to the school of their choice by stopping by one of the designated login locations and/or receipt drop boxes.
At the end of the school year, participating schools are awarded scholarships ranging from $250 to $2,000, based on their total points earned. Additional bonus points can be earned by attending special Hub events or publicizing Cash for Class at school.
For the past nine years, schools have responded with enthusiasm and agree that Cash for Class is easy and fun. Most importantly, every school who participates wins!
