Hey, music lovers - your summer is officially booked!
Summertime means sunshine and cloudless skies, when leisure activities move outside. Spending a summer evening under a starry sky is one of the pleasures of summer in the West, especially when warm days dissolve into clear, balmy nights. So, pack up your lawn chairs and blankets and head to Fremont's Central Park as it's popular Summer Concert Series returns with a better than ever lineup of bands.
All concerts are held in the Central Park Performance Pavilion on Thursdays, free and open to the public. As a special opening night treat on July 9, The Saddle Rack barbecue will be sizzling to provide an a la carte menu for concert-goers.
If you would prefer not to cook or pack a picnic dinner, for the rest of the concerts, Bistro in the Park will be selling dinners to go at the Senior Center from July 16 through August 13. Meals can be pre-ordered the week of each concert at the Fremont Senior Center Office (40000 Paseo Padre Parkway) or purchased at the concert. Meals are $7 for Senior Center members or $9 for the public. Dinner will be served hot off the grill from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Concerts are presented by The Saddle Rack. Also featured at the concerts is the Kids' Corral, including a bounce house, arts and crafts, and a kid-friendly environment, sponsored by the American Swim Academy. Parking lots near the concert venue fill up by 6 pm, so plan to arrive early if you want a good parking spot.
